We love any idea that takes an ingredient and uses it in an ingenious way. These Owl Cupcakes show a whole different side of Oreos — one you won't be able to resist ming. They might look crafty, but they're insanely easy to make. If you can bake cupcakes, you've got this.

These are the perfect thing to serve at any fall birthday party or bake sale, or even a Harry Potter-themed party (use vanilla frosting, and bam! It's Hedwig, Harry's pet owl.)
To make them, simply bake chocolate cupcakes and frost them in chocolate frosting (homemade or store bought – you do you). When frosting, one technique is key: You want to create two ears on top of the cupcake by simply making swirls that extend beyond the cupcake. This step is crucial for creating the owl look.
Now comes the fun part: decorating. You'll need Oreos and mini M&Ms (orange and brown). Separate enough Oreos so you have white icing on 24 halves. (As for the chocolate cookies you have left over, dunk them in milk and devour, duh). These are your eyes. As for eyeballs, frost the bottoms of brown mini M&Ms and place them on the Oreos. For the nose, stick that vertically in between the eyes.
