Even though butterbeer is from *ahem* fictional origins, here at TheNextTycoon we've become obsessed with the flavor profile. (Or at least what we imagine the flavor to be.) We've made everything, from poke cake and punch, but never Jell-O shots, which is shocking considering we've done pretty much every Jell-O shot ever.
I did not take the assignment of making these Jell-O shots lightly. Harry Potter fans are SERIOUS and I didn't want to disappoint with a lack luster shot. All this to say, there's lots of gold sanding sugar involved.

The recipe starts as any good butterbeer recipe should, with butterscotch. We dipped our shot glasses in the good stuff, then in gold sanding sugar for a very blingy rim.
For the Jell-O mixture, we started with our favorite cream soda and added some packets of plain gelatin. When the gelatin is fully dissolved the vodka can be added. Whisk it up and it's ready for your blinged-out shot glasses.
What really makes these shots special is their garnish, and they couldn't be easier to make! Melt white chocolate chips down and pour them into a piping bag or ziplock bag. Pipe tiny lightning bolts onto a parchment lined baking sheet and sprinkle with gold sanding sugar. Let them harden in the freezer before sticking them into your cool whip-topped shots. Guaranteed they'll be the most magical drinks you've ever made!
