A Zombie Frappuccino Could Take Over Your Local Starbucks

Actual question: Does it taste like brains?

If you thought the Pumpkin Spice Latte was the only specialty drink that Starbucks would dominate this season with, you're mistaken. Sure, the company has released a Maple Pecan Latte, but the drink that's getting all kinds of attention online is one disturbingly green Frappuccino.

According to Day of the Human, Starbucks might be rolling out a brand new, Halloween-themed Zombie Frapp later this month for an "extremely limited" time. The food and drink blog apparently received leaked photos of the coffee chain's menu from baristas who work there. They say the drink features bright green Caramel Apple Powder with a swirl of pink powder (though what that 'pink powder' is, is anyone's guess at this point). It's all topped with pink "brains," AKA tinted whipped cream. Essentially, you can think of this drink as the Unicorn Frappuccino 2.0: Incredibly sweet and made for .

Starbucks hasn't confirmed whether the flavor is, indeed, coming to Starbucks stores, but a spokesperson's reply suggests that there's at least something wicked coming our way. "Our Halloween plans are still under [mummy] wraps, but we look forward to sharing more details with the living soon," was the response we received.

Mummy wraps? The living? It's all so cryptic, but given the #baristalife posts popping up on , we wouldn't be surprised if the Zombie Frappuccino is the real deal.

This wouldn't be the first Halloween-related beverage the coffee chain has rolled out. For two years in a row, customers could head to Starbucks just before All Hallows Eve to purchase the Frappula, a Dracula-inspired drink that featured mocha sauce, a dollop of whipped cream, mocha Frappuccino, and a drizzle of strawberry puree around the rim that created a drippy-blood, ombre effect.

If the rumors are true, the Zombie Frappuccino will hit stores starting Oct. 26, available until Halloween — or as long as those whipped-cream "brains" are in stock.
