Free Flapjacks! IHOP Giving Away Pancakes, Raising Money for Charity

Skip the cereal. Make it a pancake day. More than 1,500 IHOP Restaurant locations around the U.S. will give away free servings of their famous short stack pancakes from 7a.m. to 10p.m. on March 1, 2011, as part of National Pancake Day.

IHOP plans the annual pancake giveaway to help raise money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. After enjoying their plates of hot flapjacks, diners are invited to donate what they would have paid for the pancakes to the hospital network or other causes. In 2010, IHOP served more than 4 million free pancakes and raised more than $2.1 million. This year, the chain hopes to raise $2.3 million.
