Avocados taste amazing on just about everything: smashed on toast, stuffed as boats or even just scooped straight into your mouth as a snack (no shame). But instead of spending your entire grocery budget on $4 fruits — yes, they're a fruit – you can now actually eat avocados for a job.
That's right. An avocado-themed cafe is hiring a lucky taste tester for a position titled "Head of Avo Control." The dream gig involves sampling all of Good Fat's 20 menu items before it opens for business on November 2 as well as being an "avocado 'avocate'" on social media.

And the current line-up goes way beyond guacamole. Chef Liam Crawley's signature dessert is an avocado cornetto: avocado ice cream in a waffle cone topped with spiced pumpkin cream, hazelnut praline, shaved dark chocolate and a salted caramel drizzle, the Australian reports.
According to the job listing, the ideal candidate has "a minimum two years experience in smashing avocados on toast or similar" and "proven knowledge of how to check avocado ripeness by gently pressing the sweet spot and a healthy history of successful avocado selection." Check and check!
If the deal sounds slightly too good to be true, that's because it is. The Head of Avo Control gets paid in the form of free food at Good Fat for the duration of the one-month temp job. Oh, and the cafe's in Sydney, Australia, so you'll have to fork over a few thousand just to fly there.
But an excuse to travel Down Under and eat buckets of avocados? Priceless. Besides, when you consider the fact that the fruits are more expensive than they've ever been, it might be a pretty good deal come to think of it.
If you're looking to add more avocado-related experience to your resume, you can apply for the job on Seek, but hurry! The deadline for submitting a cover letter is tomorrow, Wednesday, October 25. Avocado taste-testing just might be the job skill your career has been missing all along.
