There are a ton of interesting facts about Queen Elizabeth floating around out there, but the one thing you probably never expected to learn about her is that she owns a McDonald's. That's right, the Queen of England owns a branch of one of the most popular fast food chains in the world, though you probably won't ever catch her grabbing a bite to eat there.
According to a video released by Business Insider, the McDonald's in question is owned by The Crown Estate, and it's located about 80 miles outside of London at Banbury Gateway Shopping Park. The development of the property, which is also home to a Costa Coffee, a Starbucks, and a Primark, was funded by the Estate back in 2015. The McDonald's itself is pretty high-tech too, as it boasts free Wi-Fi, a phone charging station, digital menu boards, and table service.
As surprising as it is that the Queen has such a close association with chicken McNuggets, what isn't all too shocking is knowing that she doesn't visit the restaurant very often, as she's on a pretty disciplined diet. But you can still hold out just a little bit of hope to one day run into the monarch while chowing down on a McDouble.
